This beautiful photo of Kinsey and Aeryn (9 weeks old, Aeryn on the left) was taken by Chantel O. Johnson. Don't ask me how she got two BUSY puppies to pose so prettily! Chantel took many of the other pictures on this website - she's very talented and captures the personality of the dogs every time. Her website is here

Six weeks old.

Nine weeks.

Aeryn, 17 weeks.

You can start Agility training with young Danes if you use some care and common sense. Keep jumps very low until about 18 months of age; keep contacts very low; and do tunnels and weave poles sparingly. But that leaves you plenty to work on as far as control, handling techniques, teaching the dog to work ahead of you, etc.
You can find a great article that discusses specific safety strategies for starting agility training with a young Giant breed dog at CHROMA Dane.

Kinsey is about 15 weeks old here, and she has almost outgrown that trampoline!

Apparently Kinsey needed a break from helping me work on the deck furniture - but with no where else to rest, she made good use of the old cushions I'd put aside! It's a very hard life, obviously.

"Are you asleep?"

Aeryn playing with a lovely young Dane we were fostering for Rescue. Rescues always need knowledgable foster homes to care for homeless dogs until they can be adopted. We have found that it also is a real bonus in that our dogs get additional socialization that is priceless.

Aeryn inverted - a favored sleeping postition. All our dogs like to sleep on their backs.

Aeryn upright :-)

Does Kinsey know she's special, or what??

Ever hear of a "zoomie" fit? Well, this is what one looks like! :-)
